Sonya Young, Psy.D. is a clinical psychologist licensed in the state of California (PSY 34909). Dr. Young enjoys working with a variety of issues and concerns including, but not limited to trauma, anxiety, depression, obsessions and compulsions, spiritual concerns, grief and loss, and self-harm behaviors. She is experienced in working with all age groups, but specializes in the treatment of children, adolescents, and young adults. Dr. Young is collaborative in her therapeutic approach and seeks to personalize treatment based upon the needs and wants of each individual. She is also trained in and utilizes a variety of therapeutic approaches including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Dialectical-Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Psychodynamic, and mindfulness-based practices.

 

Dr. Young received a Psy.D. in clinical psychology from Loma Linda University (APA accredited) in 2020 and completed an APA accredited doctoral internship with the Loma Linda University School of Medicine. She also earned a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology from Loma Linda University in 2017 and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Biola University in 2012.
