Katherine Boulware, LMFT, SUDCC IV (she/her)

Katherine Boulware is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (#120535) and a Substance Use Disorder Clinical Counselor IV in the state of California. She works with adults and couples and has a special passion for working with young adults.  Katie has experience working with substance use issues as well as relationship struggles, communication issues, and social anxiety. Some other issues that Katie works with are depression, mood disorders, trauma, and self-harm behaviors.  She is an ally to the LGBTQ+ community and is trans and queer affirming.  Katie is sensitive to multicultural needs and has experience working with the elderly community treating seniors who struggle with addiction issues.  She is trained in Gestalt therapy which is present focused, collaborative, and helpful in learning to identify emotions and patterns of behavior that lie at the root of addiction. She uses a mindfulness approach that focuses on treating the whole person as an individual. Katie is also trained in Neurofeedback technology which works to train the brain to change problematic behaviors. 

 

Katie studied at the University of La Verne in California where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies with a minor in Psychology as well as a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy.
