Katherine Boulware, AMFT, CAODC
Katherine Boulware is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist and Certified Alcohol and Other Drug Counselor in the state of California. She works with adults, couples, and children and has a special passion for working with teens and young adults. Katie has experience working with substance use issues as well as relationship struggles, communication issues, and social anxiety. Some other issues that Katie works with are depression, mood disorders, trauma, and self-harm behaviors. She has worked closely with the homeless and extremely low income population and, as a result, understands the stressors and difficulties that these circumstances may present. Katie is sensitive to multicultural needs and has experience working with the elderly community treating seniors who struggle with addiction issues. She is trained in Gestalt therapy which is present focused, collaborative, and helpful in learning to identify emotions and patterns of behavior that lie at the root of addiction. Katie is also trained in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Twelve Step Facilitation. She uses a mindfulness approach that focuses on treating the whole person as an individual.
Katie studied at the University of La Verne in California where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies with a minor in Psychology as well as a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy.
